You Don’t Have to Be a Feminist to Want Equality For Women

I have a theory: Women have a more difficult time in life than men. I know, ground-breaking right? It took two degrees and getting married to open my eyes to the fact that women don’t get the same opportunities as men. At least, not as easily.

This phenomenon factors into how much women are paid, what their home life is like, and even what roles they can take in the local church. (I do believe, in fact, that the Holy Spirit can, and will, speak mightily through women. Maybe even lead through them!)

A word of warning: This video is shocking. But shock is good. It gets us to think outside of our normal thought-ruts. These images may offend you, yet all of them are pulled from basic cable channels and grocery store magazine racks. Think about the messages that our media are sending and ask, what are the implications of the content?

The everyday folks like you and me are steeped in this culture, either directly or indirectly. This is the world we live in. This is the world we minister in. The people consuming this media are in the pews and seats of your church.

My question to you is: How do we create a world that runs counter-culture to the one depicted in this video?
