- The Wise family finally visited the Iowa State Fair on Sunday. Finny got to see the world’s largest boar, I ate over 2 feet of corn dog, and the night ended with our four-month old daughter vomiting all over the nursery. Can’t wait to do it again next year! (Evie’s fine, by the way. Nasty stomach bug. PS – You should all send my wife a tweet today and ask her to tell you how much she loves the Fair! =])
- Speaking of celebrations, my wife and I celebrated six years of wedded bliss on Saturday. We went to a steakhouse that made a raving fan out of me before the meal arrived. Ambience, lighting, experience. It was all there. The wooed us, and that’s a fact. (Plus, it didn’t hurt that Olympian Lolo Jones was sitting in the booth next to us. She’s a gracious, class act.)
- So that’s how they did it.

- Love this guy’s site. Anyone out there want to take a crack at designing something similar for me? Serious inquiries only, please.
- Nobody welcomes Olympians home like Iowans.
- I did some research and found I wasn’t the only one who dislikes the new Rdio interface. It’s such a visual dud that I switched to Spotify. Their UI isn’t anything to write home about either, but they have a much better selection. Plus, they integrate social better. So long, Rdio.
- Speaking of poor customer experiences, did you read this piece on United airlines? Every organization has a rough day or two, but I keep hearing story after story of how bad United really is. Flying isn’t glamorous, but United, from my own experience, makes it downright miserable.
