- “I work with people who I have no idea what political affiliation they are because we are too busy solving problems.” – Bill Clinton
- This political season, now more than ever, I’m convinced of the Steve Jobs political spectrum. He said, “The question isn’t liberal or conservative. The question is, ‘is this constructive or destructive?’” I choose to vote constructive. This election, my choice has never been so clear.
- My wife and I tried watching the MTV VMAs. First, I had no idea who most of the people were. Second, when did MTV turn into soft-core porn?
- The Hawkeyes lost this weekend. Cyclones looked sharp, too. Congrats to all the Iowa State fans out there. I think my alma mater, UNI, is going to be my team this year. They decimated Central State University, 59-0. They’re playing Iowa next week and I think they’ll beat the Hawkeyes. UNI is that good. Iowa is that bad. Does this make me a fair-weather fan? Yes. Do I care? No!
- Would you read a book on social media and the Church? If so, what problems would it need to solve?
- I made a mu-sick board on Pinterest. I wish these things could be collaborative!
- I sold structure.io to the good folks at Occipital.com. An absolute pleasure to deal with. An enjoyable process that restored my faith in technology companies.
- Mayor Cory Booker’s speech at the DNC. (How can you not love this guy?)
- Fascinating read on why Jars of Clay is leaving the evangelical Church. Not leaving Jesus, just a very narrow subsection of Christianity.
- In the last two weeks, I have consumed the juice of the following fruits and vegetables: Orange, carrot, kale, beet, celery, spinach, apple, onion, garlic, tomato, and jalapeño. That last one was a terrible as it sounds. After consuming, I had to lay down on the couch for 15 minutes.
- The Sandlot kids, all grown up.
- How to make an extra $100,000 in the next six months.
- Below: Happy birthday to the best little boy I know. Finny turns three today! You are loved dearly, my son!
