  • I will always vote in the general election. Why? It’s simple. Policies affect people and people matter to God. If you don’t vote, you don’t get a voice. Stand up and be counted.
  • My seven-month-old daughter was baptized this weekend. I love joining in with Church history to celebrate the gift of God’s grace, especially when we don’t understand or deserve it. Happy Baptism, Evie Grace!

  • I had a fascinating conversation with an old friend over the weekend. We caught up mostly, but ended up talking about the Church’s position in today’s culture. As he put it, “The Church no longer has home field advantage.” I agree. For people of faith, I think if you looked around and took stock, you’d probably agree too. Christians need to learn how to relate to normal, everyday people again. We need to learn how to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t look/act/think like us without wanting to “fix” them. Perhaps, after all, we’re the ones who need fixing! I’m ready for following Jesus to be more than platitudes.
